Elevating Eventing Across the Southeast
The War Horse Event Series (WHES), presented by Foundation Equine Clinic, is a premier competition series that continues to elevate the sport of eventing across the Southeast and Mid-Atlantic regions. The WHES has grown exponentially year after year, attracting competitors, sponsors, and volunteers who are passionate about the sport and its development.
In partnership with the United States Eventing Association (USEA), WHES is proud to be a registered schooling show, providing competitors with an exceptional opportunity to gain experience in a recognized competition setting.
WHES remains dedicated to horse and rider development by offering dressage, cross-country, and show jumping schooling 2 days before each competition.

Competition Levels
Ideal for horses and riders new to eventing — straightforward questions in all three phases.
A step up in technicality with combinations and related distances introduced on cross country.
Riders are expected to have established skills across all three disciplines and ride more technical questions.
A bridge level between Training and Preliminary, offering experience at increased height and questions.
The gateway to the international levels — technical cross-country and higher-level dressage required.
Event Schedule
Show jumping and cross-country courses begin at a general level of difficulty and increase across the five events — with true Championship-level courses reserved for the November WHES Championship. This progression supports horse and rider development at every stage of the season.

How to Enter
Download and read the prize list for the event you plan to enter — confirms classes, fees, and requirements.
Entries are processed through the USEA Event Management System or Event Entries — links posted with each prize list.
Ensure your horse has a current Coggins, vaccination record, and valid health certificate (CVI) for out-of-state horses.
On-site stabling at the Carolina Horse Park is available — contact the show office to reserve stalls in advance.
